Jonathan has extensive expertise in structuring specialist alternative, venture capital and real estate investment funds, and advising on all issues relating to their establishment, regulatory position and ongoing operations.
He has considerable experience guiding directors of investment funds, as well as listed and private companies, and also has wide-ranging experience in advising fund promoters, institutional and private investors, custodians, investment advisers and administrators.
Jonathan advises on a broad range of corporate and commercial matters, and has significant experience in local and international cross-border mergers and acquisitions (both for vendors and buyers), corporate restructuring, and in identifying structural, regulatory and fiscal solutions to many issues faced by modern businesses.
He has also acted as Jersey lead counsel for well-known banks in lending transactions of significant value, and provided advice at governmental level in relation to banking confidentiality laws and regulations.
Previously a senior associate at two leading offshore law firms, Jonathan has worked for over a decade in the investment funds and corporate/commercial practice areas.

Hiren has been practicing law since 1991. He is a corporate lawyer with specialist practice areas in insurance, structured finance and capital markets. He is admitted to practice law in England and Wales, Hong Kong and Bermuda, and has extensive experience in cross-border transactions, having lived and worked in a number of offshore jurisdictions.
Before becoming a founder group partner of VerrasLaw, he was a partner of Walkers where he led the Corporate Department of their Jersey office. Prior to this he was a founding partner of Appleby’s London office.
Hiren’s client base includes banks and companies involved in infrastructure, oil and gas, telecommunications, insurance and reinsurance, shipping and aviation and building projects worldwide.
He has a particularly strong client base in India, China, and the Far East. These clients focus on structuring inward and outward investments into these regions, listings on the PLUS market, AIM, and/or the LSE (to raise capital from London), and the expansion of their Asian businesses.
